RGB combines red, green and blue light on phones, monitors and cameras. CMYK combines cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks or toners to reproduce colour on paper and other printable materials.
Because the systems create colour differently, some vivid RGB colours sit outside the reproducible CMYK range. Conversion maps those colours to printable alternatives; it does not preserve every screen colour exactly.

Bright white, cream, kraft, coated and uncoated stocks reflect and absorb colour differently. The substrate becomes part of the result.
Colour profiles help software translate values for a defined device or printing condition. Use the profile and export method requested by the printer.
Small black text is commonly kept simple and sharp, while large dark areas may use a controlled multi-ink build. Follow the printer specification.
Excessive combined ink can cause drying, set-off and shadow-detail problems. Safe limits vary by paper and production process.
Gloss, matt and soft-touch laminates alter contrast, saturation and surface reflection even when the printed sheet underneath is unchanged.
A screen PDF checks content and layout. A calibrated or production proof is needed when the question is physical colour.
Many full-colour print workflows use CMYK, but conversion should follow the printer requested profile and process. Some modern workflows accept managed RGB files and perform conversion at output.
Screens emit light and can display bright colours outside the printable CMYK range. Paper colour, coating, ink and ambient light also affect the printed appearance.
Pantone is a standardised spot-colour reference system. A specified ink can be used where the production method and budget support it, especially for important brand colours.
Rich black combines black with controlled amounts of other process colours for large dark areas. The correct build depends on the printer; it is usually inappropriate for small text.
Not automatically. Equipment, calibration, ink, paper, profiles, finishing and tolerances all influence colour. Agreed proofs and references improve consistency.
A normal on-screen PDF proof confirms content and layout but cannot guarantee physical colour unless the viewing system is calibrated and the proof workflow is colour managed.
